Strasbourg en Alsace: True Magic Kingdom

I first traveled to France at the completion of my college freshman year to pursue studies in advanced French language and culture at the Université Sorbonne Nouvelle-Paris 3. No sooner had I completed my degree than I was making my way back to France to work as an assistante d’anglais. My first choice had been Strasbourg – I was placed instead at Melun, a Paris suburb.

Our three-day stay here has lived up to, even exceeded expectations. “Paris’s got nothing on you”, I keep thinking, being impressed minute by minute just exploring the city.

Five-day Italian Get-away

Italy is a country that’s dear to my heart, partly due to its rich cultural history, food, and endless choice of activities to indulge in, and places to explore. Rome, the Vatican, Tuscany region, and Venice all hold extra special memories, having visited with our young children in 2002. I can still remember our daughter Hailey, age five, strolling around the Roman Forum, seemingly oblivious to the ancient  stones and ruins surrounding her, her glasses literally stuck to the Jack and Annie book in which she was engrossed.
